Southwest Montana Junior Golf Tour players Brenner Booth and Kate DeShaw are this week’s Leskovar Honda Athletes of the Week.

Both players take home the honors after an exceptional summer on the Tour.

Booth receives the boys’ award after shooting his first under-par round at the Three Forks Challenge. The soon-to-be Butte High junior carded a 2-under 70 to win the Scotty Scheffler Division for players 16-17 by 5 shots.

Booth played in five of the seven events leading into the Tour Championship and won four of them. He also took home titles at the Beaverhead Invitational, Silver Bow Open and Lee LaBreche Kick-Off Classic. He took second in the Anaconda Challenge.

DeShaw, a soon-to-be Butte High freshman, is the girls’ honoree. She shot a 96 to win the Three Forks Challenge in the Lexi Thompson Division for girls 14-15.

DeShaw played in five events leading into the Championship, and she won all of them. She also collected victories at the Anaconda Challenge, Butte Par 3 Challenge, Beaverhead Invitational and Lee LaBreche Kick-Off Classic.

Leskovar Honda, home of the 20-year, 200,000-mile warranty, teamed up with the ButteCast to honor the finest student-athletes from the Mining City in an effort to encourage more children to get up, get out and try all kinds of sports and activities.
