Perhaps it is a good omen for the 2023 football season.

Two days before beginning practice for his senior season at Butte High, Kyler Stenson registered a hole in one at the Old Works in Anaconda.

Stenson used his pitching wedge to ace the 156-yard hole No. 4 from the white tee box Aug. 8. The shot was witnessed by Kade Schleeman, Rye Vincent and Rigley Vincent. The hole in one was the first of Stenson’s career.

Stenson, who wears No. 44 for the Bulldogs, plays tight end and defensive line. He is also a standout in track & field at Butte High School.
