Butte High’s girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball teams swept the Bozeman Hawks in a non-conference twin bill Thursday night at the Butte Civic Center.

The Bulldog girls won 47-39 before the Butte boys completed the sweep with a 70-64 victory.

With his game-high 31 points in the nightcap, Butte High junior Hudson Luedtke closed within six points of moving into fourth place on the Bulldog boys’ all-time scoring list. Luedtke now has 869 career points, and he could possibly pass Doug Edwards (874) and Gary Kane (883) when the Bulldogs play Butte Central Saturday at the Civic Center.

After that, he will only have John Dawson (1,022 points) and Chris Rasmussen (969) standing in his way of becoming the all-time leading scorer in Butte High boys’ basketball history.

The Butte-Central varsity games start with the girls playing at 6 p.m. Saturday. The boys will start around 7:30. All of the subvarsity action will also be played at the Civic Center.

Butte Central’s teams play at Livingston on Friday.
