Saturday was a bitter-sweet one for the Butte High boys’ basketball team.

Bulldog junior Hudson Luedtke became the all-time leading scorer in the history of the Butte High boys’ basketball program. But it came in a 64-61 Western AA loss at Helena Capital.

Luedtke sank five 3-pointers and poured in 20 points to pass the late John Dawson for the top spot in school history. He now has 1,037 points in his career. Dawson finished his career with 1,022 points in 1968.

Lexie Nelson is Butte’s all-time leading scorer with 1,696 points in her career that ended in 2010.

Dylan “Bobby” Bache also scored 20 points for the Bulldogs in the loss.

Butte High’s girls’ team got back to winning ways with a 41-34 victory over Capital at the Richardson Gym.

Butte Central, meanwhile, split with Corvallis in Southwestern A games. BC’s boys rolled to a 73-37 victory at the Maroon Activities Center. The Blue Devils turned back the BC girls 45-41 in Corvallis.
