The Knights of Columbus Hall will add another Butte sports legend to its hallowed walls next week.

A banner commemorating the career of former Butte High Bulldog and Montana State Bobcat Tommy Mellott will be enshrined at the Felix Madrazo Gym.

A ceremony will be held to unveil the banner at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17. The public is invited to attend and either sit down on the court or watch from above from the running track. The public can enter on the side door on Idaho Street or use the main entrance on Park Street.

Members of the West team for the Montana East-West Shrine Game will be on hand to watch the unveiling.

Mellott, who led the Bulldogs to the 2019 State Championship football game before taking the Bobcats to the FCS National Championship game two times, was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the sixth round of the NFL Draft in April.

The 2024 Walter Payton Award winner will join the ceremony remotely. Mellott, who played quarterback for the Bulldogs and Bobcats, is playing receiver for the Raiders, wearing No. 19.
