Belgrade’s Jamie Brusa and Bozeman’s Sawer Kesselheim claimed victories in the Wulfman CDT 14K trail race Saturday.
The race is hosted by Butte’s Piss and Moan Running Club going between Pipestone (Harding Way) and Homestake. The race, which started in 2008 to honor long-time runner John Wulf, saw 160 runners completed the course. (Results)
The win marked the third consecutive victory in the race for Brusa, who finished with a time of 1 hour, 5 minutes, 7 seconds. Bozeman’s Emily Allison finished second in 1:10:17, and Nicole Murray of Whitehall finished third in 1:11:06. Murray has won the race several times.
Butte runners Riley Crissman and Alisa Hashley finished in 1:11:43 and 1:16:17 to finish in the top five.
The victory was the first in the rase for Kesselheim, who placed second last year. He finished with a time of 1 hour, 13 seconds. Derik Chaney finished second in 1:08:38. Chaney recently moved to Butte from Helena. Butte’s Don Foley finished third in 1:09:13. Brock Whitted of Bozeman and Butte’s Ozzie Rosenleaf rounded out the top five finishing in 1:10:49 and 1:11:39.
