Boyle’s Buddies are this week’s Leskovar Honda Athletes of the Week.
The honor comes after the group of Special Olympic basketball players honored Casey Boyle and Kyle Burgman with the playing of the Boyle’s Buddies Game Sunday at East Middle School.
The game marked the 10th anniversary of the passing of the two Butte friends.
The White team beat the Red team, 59-43, though several players switched back and forth between teams during the game. All players play for the Butte Eagles during the Special Olympics.
Throughout the game, the players showcased some spirited competition and incredible sportsmanship that truly honored their former teacher and coach, Casey Boyle.

Boyle’s Buddies players are Zach Stenson, Dalan Dagen, Kallie Robbins, Josh Mota, Bryce “Smiley” Bailey, Joe Gibson, Jalen “Hollywood” Foley, D.J. Macumber, Tristan Grogan and Krystina Segna. They are coached by John Stenson.
J.T. and Hunter Boyle also played with the Special Olympians to honor their late uncle.
Then, several players from the game competed in the Burgman/Boyle Classic alumni game.
For the third year, Leskovar Honda, home of the 20-year, 200,000-mile warranty, is teaming up with the ButteCast to honor the finest student-athletes from the Mining City to encourage more children to get up, get out and try all kinds of sports and activities.
