Five members of the Butte High flag football team earned Eastern AA All-Conference honors, Butte High coach John Stenson announced Monday.

Stenson said this is the first time a postseason team has been selected for Montana high school flag football.

Junior Mackenzie Read led the way for the Bulldogs, taking home a first-team nod at cornerback. That came after a season in which she picked off five passes.

Read also received an honorable mention at running back.

Junior linebacker Brooke Johnson and sophomore receiver Charliee Richter each took home second-team honors, while freshman receiver Kaydee O’Connor and sophomore linebacker Chyanne Robinson received an honorable mention.

The Eastern AA is the only conference that picked All-Conference selections. The league is made up of Butte High and the three Class AA Billings schools. Stenson said he does not believe an All-State team will be picked.
