FRENCHTOWN — Another day, another split for the Butte Central basketball teams.
The Butte Central girls dropped a 51-23 decision to Columbia Falls Saturday before the Central boys knocked off the Wildcats 60-52. The gams were part of a tip-off tournament.
The Maroons will host the East vs. West Tipoff tournament next Friday and Saturday at the Maroon Activities Center. The tournament will feature Glendive, Whitefish and Sidney.
BOYS
Butte Central 60, Columbia Falls 52
Cade Kelly sank four 3-pointers and Joshua Sutton buried three long balls to lead the way as the Maroons improved to 2-0.
Sutton poured in 17 points, leading three Maroons in double figures. GG Fantini scored 16 poins, and Kelly finished with 14. As a team, the Maroons connected on nine 3-pointers. Ryan Peoples and Fantini each hit one.
Peoples scored eight points, Noah Sutton tossed in three, and Jaxon Hiatt netted two. Henly Mansanti and Burkley Lakkala also contributed in the win.
Jory Hill scored 14 to lead Columbia Falls. Easton Brooks scored 13, and Bjorn Pedersen tossed in 12.

Rylee Sweeny scored nine points to lead a balanced Columbia Falls attack as the Wildkats turned back the Maroons. Alexa Friske and Onnikka Lawrence each scored eight points.
Eighth grader Jordyn Samson again led the Maroons in scoring. She tossed in nine points for BC, which fell to 0-2.
Zayonna Otherbull scored five points for Central, which got three apiece from Kenzie McQueary and Natalie Osterman, two from Rylee Forbes and one from Arika Stajcar. Marly Mansanti, Braelynn Schelin and Lucy Fantini also contributed for the Maroons.
