BOYS
Butte High 75, Kalispell Flathead 61
Luedtke sat on the Bulldog bench for several minutes after the dust settled in Butte High’s nightcap victory.
He said he was soaking in his final game at the storied Civic Center. He made that game one to remember.
Luedtke scored 24 points of his 33 points in the first half. That included six 3-pointers, four of which came in the second quarter. He scored 18 points in that stanza with a handful of contested jumpers. Remarkably, that big night scoring came with only one free throw attempt.
It was a game in which it felt like Luedtke could score 40, if not 50 points. However, the Class AA assists leader showed off his unselfish side in the second half, letting his teammates do the work.
Fellow senior Mitch Verlanic and Rhett Arntson and sophomore Brady Hanson were three who took the most advantage of that. Verlanic sank three 3-pointers and scored a career-high 17 points in the win. Arntson came off the bench to drain a pair of threes and score 10 points.
Hanson scored nine — all in the third quarter. That included a pair of Earth-shaking dunks, one of which came on an alley-oop from Luedtke.
Josh Liston came through with four points, and Kendel Noctor knocked down two.
Ryan Hanson started and contributed to the Bulldog win. James Pearston, and Raeder Grey also chipped in for the Bulldogs.
Hunter Fann scored 12 points, and Lance Schneller tossed in 10 to lead the Braves. Boston Case scored nine, and Reece Brotherton came off the bench to tallied eight.
