Butte Central senior Brooke Badovinac and Butte High senior Sean Ossello are this week’s Leskovar Honda Athletes of the Week.
Badovinac takes home the girls’ honor for the second time, but first as a softball player. She had two big games at the plate as BC fell at Corvallis and Hamilton.
Against Corvallis, the slick-fielding shortstop went 3 for 3 with a home run, two walks and five RBIs. The next day against Hamilton, Badovinac went 1 for 3 with a triple, RBI and two walks.
Ossello, the speedy center fielder for Butte High’s baseball team, takes home the boys’ award after setting the table as the Bulldogs swept Sydney in Columbus.
The leadoff hitter went 1 for 2 with a walk, two runs and two stolen bases as Butte High won the opener 12-0. Then, Ossello went 2 for 3 with a double, three RBIs, two runs scored and four stolen bases as Butte High took the second game 13-0.
Leskovar Honda, home of the 20-year, 200,000-mile warranty, teamed up with the ButteCast to honor the finest student-athletes from the Mining City in an effort to encourage more children to get up, get out and try all kinds of sports and activities.
