Hudson Luedtke and Mattie Stepan took home the top awards Wednesday night during the Butte Athletic Council’s all-sports banquet at the Butte Civic Center.

Luedtke received the Harry “Swede” Dahlberg Outstanding Male Athlete award, while Stepan took home the Outstanding Female Athlete honor.

The honor comes after the duo combined to earn 16 varsity letters. Luedtke, lettered four times each in football and basketball. The all-time leading scorer in the history of the Butte High boys’ basketball program, earned All-State honors all four years in each sport.

Stepan lettered four times in wrestling, three times in softball and once in soccer. In February, she became the first four-time place winner in Butte High girls’ wrestling history. She placed fourth as a junior, sixth as a sophomore and fourth as a freshman. Stepan is also the first girl in the program to register 100 wins.

In all, 12 Bulldogs received Block B awards. That goes to student-athletes who earn at least seven varsity letters in their career.

Cayde Stajcar finishes his career at Butte High with a record 14 letters. That includes four each in football, baseball and track, and two letters in basketball.

Peyton Liva lettered nine times, while Chase Choquette and Camden Houchin joined Luedtke and Stepan with eight. Allie Ballensky, Ryan Hanson, Keeley Johnson, Sophia Searer, Kaleb Celli and Olivia Thurmond each lettered seven times.
