Beau McGree defended his title at the Butte Central Invitational golf tournament Monday.
This time, he won it in convincing fashion.
The Butte Central junior matched par with a 70 at the Highland View Golf Course to take home medalist honors on the boys’ side with a four-shot victory. (Team scores; Individual results)
Dillon’s Cooper Clarke placed second at 74, while Helena Capital’s Kason Gamradt and Shawn Hageman tied for third at 75. Zane Garrison of Dillon was next at 76, followed by Edwin Wilson of Capital at 78.
Skylar LaPierre of Dillon carded a 79 to claim medalist honors on the girls’ side. Charlotte Dale of Missoula Big Sky was second at 81, followed by Big Sky’s Jewell Coleman at 86 and BC freshman Mya McGree at 89.
Big Sky won the girls’ team title at 356. Capital was second at 389, followed by Dillon at 439 and Helena High at 484.
Capital won the boys’ title at 308. Dillon was second at 323, and East Helena placed third at 339. Stevensville finished fourth at 346.
Butte Central placed fifth in a tournament that saw nine boys’ teams with scores. The Maroons shot a 347. Butte High’s junior varsity boys placed seventh at 354.
Cohen Stajcar hit an 88 for the Maroons. Connor Kachmarik shot 90, and Gannon Button hit a 99.
Teague Sullivan and Kason Liston each shot an 88 to lead the Bulldog JV. Drew Kachmarik and Braden Donnelly each shot an 89 for the Bulldogs, and Rody Johnson hit 105.
Abbie Paske also played for the Maroons, shooting a 152.
Butte Central will play in a tournament hosted by the Butte High varsity team Tuesday at Fairmont Hot Springs.
