Butte High flag football player Rylee Erickson and Bulldog golfer Jack Muhlestein are this week’s Leskovar Honda Athletes of the Week.

Erickson, a sophomore quarterback, takes home the girls’ honor after closing the season in strong fashion. She had a hand in three touchdowns over Butte High’s last three games. That includes one passing touchdown and two rushing scores.

“She is a true competitor and great athlete who gives it her all every single day,” Butte High coach John Stenson said. “She also stepped up for the team when she had to play safety due to injuries on our team and had many big plays, including two interceptions. We are all looking forward to her leading this team in to the future.”

Muhlestein, a junior, takes home the boys’ award after capturing the third-place medal at the Class AA State golf tournament at the Meadow Lark Country Club in Great Falls.

That was the best finish by a Butte High golfer since Jack Prigge won the title in 2022.

Muhlestein put together a consistent tournament, matching par at 72 both days. On Friday, he shot a 36 on each nine. Over the final round, Muhlestein carded a 33 and a 39.

The third-place finish and All-State honors come after Muhlestein finished near the top of the leaderboard all season long. He also turned heads with his honor and respect for the game.

Since the beginning of 2023, Leskovar Honda, home of the non-commission sales staff that always has your back, has teamed up with the ButteCast to honor the finest student-athletes from the Mining City to encourage more children to get up, get out and try all kinds of sports and activities.
