Leskovar Honda of Butte has teamed up with the ButteCast to bring you the Mining City Athletes of the Week.

Each week, beginning next week, Leskovar will present one boy and one girl an award to highlight the accomplishments of the athletes of Butte.

Leskovar is presenting an award in hopes of inspiring more boys and girls to participate in sports.

General Manager Brad Silvonen said such participation took a serious hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We just want kids getting out and trying stuff,” Silvonen said. “We want them to get up, get out and try everything.”

The Athletes of the Week will each receive a certificate to honor their achievements.

Look for the first honorees next week at ButteCast.com and on the ButteCast, which can be heard on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
