Hassler selected all-conference

Butte Central has a pair of All-State baseball players.

The first edition of the Central Conference All-Conference and All-State baseball teams were released to the media today, and three Maroons made the grade.

Senior outfielder Trapper Stajcar and junior shortstop/pitcher Gunnar “Goo” O’Brien were named All-State and first-team all-conference. (Click here to see all the selections)

BC senior infielder/pitcher Colt Hassler takes home a second-team all-conference nod.

O’Brien led the team with a .561 batting average on the season, helping BC qualify for a playoff game. He posted a 1.313 OPS. O’Brien also went 3-1 on the mound, striking out 25 batters in 35 and a third innings.

Stajcar batted .404 with three doubles and three triples. The speedster stole 11 bases without being caught once. Ge posted an impressive .935 field percentage in center field.

Hassler hit .316 with five doubles and 10 RBIs. He went 2-0 on the mound.

Other All-State selections from the conference are Sawyer Tackett, Cohen Hartman, Logan Fox and Trenton Moreni of Dillon, and Zavier Nunn and Hunter Sutton of East Helena.

Tackett was named the Central Conference Player of the Year. Dillon coach ach McRae was named Coach of the Year after his Beavers placed second at the Class A-B State tournament in Polson.
