The 2026-27 high school sports season will kick off Monday with the Butte Central Invitational golf tournament at the Highland View Golf Course.

The tournament, which begins at 9 a.m., will include Butte High’s junior varsity teams. The Maroons will then play with the Bulldog varsity teams at a tournament hosted by Butte High Tuesday at Fairmont Hot Springs.

Butte High will hold its Purple-White scrimmages for all sports on Friday, Aug. 21. Butte Central’s Maroon-White scrimmages will be played on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Butte Central will open the football season at home against Lockwood Aug. 28 at Montana Tech. The Bulldogs head to Gallatin to begin their football season the same night. Butte High’s first home game is set for Sept. 4 against Billings Skyview.
