Bute High flag football player Kynslee Wrampe and Butte Central football player Danny McCarthy are this week’s Leskovar Honda Athletes of the Week.

Wrampe, a sophomore defensive back, receives the girls’ honor after she picked off a pair of passes in Saturday’s loss to Flathead in Kalispell. One of the interceptions led to a go-ahead touchdown for the Bulldogs.

Wrampe is off to a strong start to the season for the Bulldogs. She works hard and is an emerging leader for a Bulldog team that has the arrow pointing up. Wrampe is also an up-and-coming player in the Butte High girls’ basketball program.

McCarthy takes home the boys’ award after a solid performance on both sides of the ball in Central’s double-overtime loss Friday night at Hardin.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound senior running back/defensive end, carried the ball twice for 23 yards on offense. He also played a big-time game on defense, leading an inspired Butte Central performance in the non-conference game.

Since the beginning of 2023, Leskovar Honda, home of the non-commission sales staff that always has your back, has teamed up with the ButteCast to honor the finest student-athletes from the Mining City to encourage more children to get up, get out and try all kinds of sports and activities.
