EAST HELENA — Butte Central’s Mya McGree put up another impressive showing Tuesday at the East Helena Invitational.

The freshman fired a 102 at the Fox Ridge Golf Course to tie for seventh place in a crowded field made up of a nice mix of teams from the Western A and Eastern A. The tournament saw 44 girls finish the tournament.

Skylar LaPierre of Dillon shot an 82 to claim medalist honors. Evelynn Driskell of Stevensville took second at 85, and Emily Schilling of Livingston took third at 88, one shot better than CeCe Fronshell of Billings Central.

Livingston won the girls’ team title at 401. Billings Central placed second at 419, and Lewistown took third at 430.

Billings Central claimed the boys’ title at 290, easily outpacing second-place Livingston’s 307. Lockwood placed third at 320, and Dillon finished fourth at 328.

Butte Central took 11th place 382.

Colin Jensen of Billings Central shot a blistering 7-under-par 65 to win boys’ medalist honors. Carter Kaiser of Lockwood took second at 71. He was followed by Livingston’s Stuart Gentry and Billings Central’s Ethan Stergar at 73, and Billings Central’s Matthew Hermanson  at 74.

Dillon’s Cooper Clark cracked the top 10. He tied for sixth place with Lincoln McPhie of Lockwood at 76.

Butte Central’s Beau McGree tied for 18th place at 82. The boys’ tournament saw 63 golfers finish the round. Connor Kachmarik added a 92 for the Maroons, who also got a 102 from Ganon Button and 106 from Cohen Stajcar.

Butte Central is back in action Tuesday at the Bigfork Invitational. Next Tuesday, the Maroons will play at Polson, which is the site of the Sept. 26 Western A Divisional tournament.
